Who and where on earth is Timbuk2Stu?!
Stu here! By day, I’m just a regular guy, blending into the city grind – another friendly face in the office elevator. But by night, I transform into my adventurous alter ego – Timbuk2Stu!
As a citizen of the world, at any point in time I could be galivanting the globe! But it is the Big Smoke – London, that I call home.
How did the adventures begin?
A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live and work in South Korea, opened my eyes and heart to the world in a way I could not have even grasped previously, which left me well and truly bitten by the metaphorical travel bug. Its bite left me infected with “dromomania” – an uncontrollable urge and insatiable appetite for more and more travel!
Where has he visited?
My escapades have since taken me across 6 continents (the fully habitable ones e.g. not Antarctica yet), seeing 50% of the world in the process – at 100+ countries and counting – whilst witnessing over 80% of the world’s wonders in the flesh.
Has Timbuk2Stu even been to Timbuktu?!
Ironically, not yet! I must mosey on down to Mali one day, and gasp at the 3 Great mud-brick Mosques of Timbuktu. However, in this case, Timbuktu is simply being used as a common metaphor – describing an incredibly distant place, equally hard to reach. As the famous saying goes… “from here to Timbuktu”. Although, if you have actually been to Timbuktu, or even better if you are from Timbuktu itself, then I for one would love to hear from you!
Experiences are life. So, whether it’s seeing the Saharan sun rise, or tucking into a tiffin of Indian Dal at the Taj Mahal, I will continue my quest of zipping between continents, chasing sunsets and stories to share with you all on this very site, my fellow Timbuk2Stu-ers.
